Sailorjupiter represents the physical power of the inner senshi. She is easily the strongest and tends to act before giving much thought to the situation. But her size and impulsiveness are suited to her job as the soldier of protection. Frequently she is one of the first to jump into the fray. Her astounding magical attacks are linked with storms and plants. Very appropriate that her name, Kino Makoto, translates to "Faithfullness of Wood."

Mako's aggresive character carries over into her normal life as well. She is an expert in martial arts and it was even rumored that she was a gang member. When she moved to Juuban, another rumor went around school that she was expelled from her previous school for fighting. The truth is she changed schools because she felt drawn to Juuban (fate?) and she was so torn up over breaking up with her sempai. Her reaction to loss can last a long time. It is a constant joke that every time she sees a cute guy she says he looks just like her sempai. That was not the first time she experienced terrible loss though. Her parents were killed in a plane crash before she became a senshi, which explains her fear of airplanes. She now lives in an apartment by herself.

Though she protects the Moon Princess, Mako is a princess in her own right. As the princess of the planet Jupiter, she holds the Io Castle, named for her planet's well known moon.

There is actually much more to the loveable Mako-chan. She is a gentle, home-loving girl who loves to cook (me too!) and clean, a sharp contrast to the tough fighter that the world sees. She is sensitive and very perceptive to the feelings and problems of her friends.

Sailorjupiter is one of my favorite senshi! I don't know how to say that enough. She is a strong character with attitude. I love that! ^_^ Even still, she can be so sweet and understanding. I find it interesting that some describe her as the most masculine of the inner senshi simply because of her power and strong physical presence, but there are others that say she is the most feminine because of her domestic skills and the way she often assumes a maternal role. In both aspects she is just what I would like to be one day.
